titleOfInvention Cleansing Compositions
abstract 1,186,342. Solid cleansing composition. UNILEVER Ltd. 19 Dec., 1967 [22 Dec., 1966], No. 57483/66. Heading C5D. A solid denture cleansing composition contains a peroxygen compound, erythrosine and an aqueous solution of an amino carboxylic acid chelating agent or a water-soluble salt thereof, in an amount sufficient to control the time of fading of the colour due to the erythrosine. Sufficient alkaline material, e.g. trisodium orthophosphate or sodium carbonate, to maintain a pH of 9À5-11À5 in a 5% (W/V) aqueous solution may be incorporated into the composition. The preferred chelating agent may be EDTA, nitrilo triacetic acid, diethylene triamine penta-acetic acid, hydroxyethyl ethylene diamine triacetic acid, 1,2-diaminocyclohexane tetra-acetic acid, amino diacetic acid, hydroxyethyl amino diacetic acid or the alkali metal salts thereof, and they may be present in 0À02-1% by weight of the composition. The peroxide may be sodium percarbonate, sodium perborate, urea peroxide or potassium monopersulphate and may be present in 5-60% by weight. Erythrosine may be present as 0À01- 0.5% by weight and a minor proportion of Orange I (C.I. No. 14600) may be added. Sodium chloride may be added in 5-60% by weight and sodium tripolyphosphate or pyrophosphate in 5-40% by weight.
