abstract | 1,186,165. Herbicide comprising a triazine and a benzimidazole. FISONS PEST CONTROL Ltd. 22 Jan., 1968 [10 Feb., 1967], No. 6466/67. Heading A5E. A herbicidal composition comprises a mixture of a triazine of the formula wherein R<SP>1</SP>, R<SP>2</SP>, R<SP>3</SP> and R<SP>4</SP> are H, alkyl or alkoxyalkyl groups together with at least one benzimidazole of the formula wherein R<SP>5</SP> is H, C 1-4 alkyl or COOR<SP>10</SP> where R<SP>10</SP> is alkyl, substituted alkyl, aryl, substituted aryl or cycloalkyl and where R<SP>6</SP>, R7, R<SP>8</SP> and R<SP>9</SP> are the same or different and are selected from hydrogen, alkyl, hydroxy, alkoxy, nitro, halogen, pseudo-halogen, substituted alkyl, carboxy, carboxy ester, carboxy amide, N-substituted carboxy amide, N-disubstituted carboxy amide, amino, mono- or di-substituted amino, thiol, alkyl thiol and oxygenated derivatives thereof. Sulphonic acid ester and amides thereof or a heterocyclic ring e.g. morpholine, attached to the benzimidazole system through a nitrogen atom and where X is trifluoromethyl or pentafluoromethyl or a salt or functional derivative of the benzimidazole where such exist. Other herbicides may be present and several substituted phenoxy-aliphatic acids are specified. |
