titleOfInvention Platinum Complexes of Organo Amino Phosphines
abstract 1,184,534. Platinous chloride complexes of organoaminophosphines. RHONE-POULENC S.A. 29 March, 1968 [29 March, 1967], No. 15147/68. Heading C2C. [Also in Division C3] The invention comprises platinous chloride complexes of the formula in which R<SP>1</SP> and R<SP>2</SP> are unsubstituted or substituted hydrocarbon groups which may be linked together with the N atom to form a heterocyclic radical. R<SP>1</SP> and R<SP>2</SP> may form with the adjacent nitrogen atom a saturated, 5- or 6- membered heterocyclic ring, which may contain a second heteroatom. Specified groups for R I and R<SP>2</SP> are alkyl, alkenyl, an alicyclic radical of 5- or 6-ring carbon atoms, phenyl, alkylphenyl and aralkyl such as phenylalkyl; alkyl of 1 to 4 carbon atoms being preferred. They are prepared by heating platinous chloride with at least two molecular proportions of an aminophosphine of the formula P[NR<SP>1</SP>R<SP>2</SP>] 3 . The reaction may be carried out in a diluent, preferably a chlorinated hydrocarbon. The complexes are useful'as catalysts in curing organopolysiloxane compositions.
