[Also in Division C3] A coating composition, especially for heat fusion processes, comprises (a) polyvinyl chloride, an acetal resin or a polyamide, (b) Pb, Cr, Mn, Ti or Fe or an oxide or salt thereof and (c) a nitrogen compound selected from dicyandiamide (except in combination with Ti or Fe or compounds thereof), hydrazine a hydrazide, thiohydrazide, dihydrazide dithiohydrazide or hydrazone or polyethylene hydrazide, hydrazodicarbonthioamide urazine, guanazole, or azodicarbonamide. Optionally there may also be added tris (dimethylaminomethyl) phenol and/or a pigment. The PVC compositions may be used as plastisols in fluidised bed coating of steel or copper sheets or as an organosol, which is baked after drying, to coat aluminium or steel. Nylon 6 (particle size 210Á) with lead silicochromate and dicyandiamide is used in a fluidised bed coating process. An acetal resin with titanium dioxide and adipic dihydrazide is dusted over a heated steel panel and postheated. |
