1,179,400. Antifriction polyester composition. INSTITUT ELEMENTOORGANICHESKIKH SOEDINENY. 28 June, 1968 [29 June, 1967], No. 30104/67. Heading C3R. [Also in Division C5] An anti-friction material comprises a linear polyacrylate resin, having unit general formula - CO-R-CO-O-Ar-O- containing not less than 3% by wt. of phosphorus, and powdered MoS 2 filler. Optional components are metallic powder (e.g. Cu, Ag) or a phosphorusfree polymer, e.g. a phenolphthalein-phenolformaldehyde or polyarylate resin. The polyarylate resins may be derived from a dicarboxylic acid, acid chloride or anhydride, and a dihydric phenol. In the examples phosphoruscontaining polyarylate resins were prepared from (Example 1) isophthaloyl dichloride, methylphosphoric acid dichloride and phenolphthalein; (Example 2) terephthaloyl dichloride, oxide-bis- (p-carboxyphenyl) methyl phosphine dichloride and phenolphthalein. In Examples 3 and 4 corresponding phosphorus-free polyarylate resins were prepared by omitting the phosphoruscontaining acid chloride. |
