| abstract | 1,178,857. Insecticides containing cyclopropane carboxylic acid esters. SUMITOMO CHEMICAL CO, Ltd. 21 Aug., 1967 [24 Aug., 1966 (2)], No. 38456/67. Heading ASE. [Also in Divisions C2 and C4] Insecticidal compositions comprise as active ingredient an insecticidal amount of at least one compound of the general formula: wherein R 1 is a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group having 1 or 2 C atoms, or a phenyl group, the phenyl group optionally being substituted by a said alkyl group or alkoxy group having 1 or 2 C atoms; R 2 , R 3 and R 4 are independently a said alkyl group; R 5 is a phenyl group, furyl group or benzofuryl group, the phenyl and furyl groups optionally being substituted by a said alkyl group, halogen atom, alkenyl group, alkylene group, benzyl group, which may be substituted by said alkyl group, thenyl group or furfuryl group, and the benzofuryl group optionally being substituted by said alkyl group, together with an inert carrier. The composition may be in the form of oil formulations, emulsions, dust preparation, aerosols, wettable powder, granules, mosquito coils and other fumigant formulations, deathinducing dust or solid formulations incorporated with baits or the like materials attractive for injurious insects, and may contain two or more active materials. There may also be incorporated synergists (specified) and other insecticides (specified), sterilizers, miticides, fungicides, herbicides, fertilizers and like agricultural chemicals. In the examples Sumithion (Registered Trade Mark), Toyoligrin, Pyrethrin, BHC and DDVP are used. |
