abstract 1,177,767. Light stabilizers for P.V.C. ALBRIGHT & WILSON (MFG.) Ltd. 6 Dec:, 1967 [12 Dec., 1966], No. 55604/66. Heading C3P. A polymer or copolymer of vinyl chloride contains as light stabilizer a compound of the formula [(RY) 2 PX-Y-] 2 M, where each R is the same or different and is a C 3 -C 12 alkyl or cycloalkyl group, each Y is the same or different and is O or S, X is O or S or is absent, providing at least one Y or X is S, and M is a Group VIII metal. Preferred are nickel dialkyl dithiophosphates. There may be present a metal soap of Cd, Ba, Zn, or Ca/Zn or an organo-tin compound or a lead salt as stabilizer together with a phosphite ester or a hindered phenol as secondary antioxidant. The compositions may be rigid or plasticized with phthalate esters.
