1,176,785. Synthetic resin-metal laminates. DYNAMIT NOBEL A.G. 4 April, 1968 [6 April, 1967], No. 16345/68. Heading B5N. [Also in Divisions C3 and H1] A base for a printed circuit comprises a sheet of poly-2,6-dimethyl-phenylene ether having a molecular weight of at least 5000. Granulated poly-2,6-dimethylphenylene ether is formed into sheets with heat and pressure and coated with electrically conductive material, e.g. copper foil, also with heat and pressure, optionally using an adhesive comprising a solution of poly-2,6-dimethylphenylene ether in a volatile solvent, e.g. toluene. The copper foil may be converted into a circuit by printing with a resistant material and then etching away unprotected copper. |
