titleOfInvention | A method for the Production of 5'-Inosinic Acid and Inosine |
abstract | 1,175,979. 5<SP>1</SP>-Inosinic acid and inosine by fermentation. TAKEDA YAKUHIN KOGYO K.K. 21 Dec., 1966 [28 Dec., 1965], No. 57176/66. Heading C2C. 5<SP>1</SP>-Inosinic acid and/or inosine are produced by inoculating a mutant strain of Bacillus licheniformis which requires both adenine and at least one of (a) an amino acid, and (b) a " vitamin source " for growth, on to a culture medium containing the requisite materials, incubating the medium until the objective substance has accumulated therein and then recovering it from the medium. " Vitamin source " denotes one or more of Vitamin B 1 , B 2 , B 6 , B 12 , nicotinic acid and its amide, folic acid, pantothenic acid, biotin, and natural sources containing these vitamins, e.g. yeast extract, polypeptone. Preferred mutant strains are B. licheniformis Nos. L-129 (A.T.C.C. 21037); L-065 (A.T.C.C. 21038); and L-271 (A.T.C.C. 21039). The preferred temperature for growth is 25-37‹ C. under aerobic conditions, and the medium normally contains an assimilable carbon source and a digestible nitrogen source. Higher yields are obtained by the inclusion of a calcium phosphate salt in the medium. |
