titleOfInvention 0,4-Dihydropyridine Derivatives and their production
abstract 1,173,104. Dihydropyridine derivatives. PARBENFABRIKEN BAYER A.G. 20 March, 1968 [20 March, 1967], No. 13479/68. Heading C2C. Novel compounds I in which R is H or C 1-3 alkyl; R<SP>1</SP> is straightchain, branched or cyclic alkyl of 1-6 carbon atoms interrupted by one or more oxygen atoms or substituted by OH, furfuryl or tetrahydrofurfuryl and X is pyridyl or phenyl, optionally substituted by one or two halo, C 1-4 alkyl, C 1-4 alkoxy, NO 2 , NH 2 , acylamino or alkylamino radicals; are prepared by reacting an aldehyde X-CHO with an ester R-CO-CH 2 -COOR<SP>1</SP> and ammonia. Pharmaceutical compositions comprise a compound I in association with a suitable pharmaceutical excipient and are administered enterally or parenterally in the treatment of coronary insufficiency, especially Angina pectoris.
