A valve for preventing backflow from a domestic water removal line 5 to a supply line 3 has an inlet valve member 13, which cooperates with a seat 11 biased upwardly by a spring 9 and connected to a bellows 8, connected by a stem 14 to an exhaust valve member 19 that co-operates with an adjustable seat 21 in the top of an exhaust line 6. In operation, supply pressure moves member 13 and seat 11 downwards against the face of spring 9 until member 19 seats when further movement of the seat 11 against the combined forces of springs 9 and 30 opens the inlet valve to supply water to line 5. Excess pressure rise in line 5 or undue pressure decrease in line 3 moves seat 11 against member 13 to close the inlet valve and afterwards moves member 19 off its seat to exhaust any water which may have entered chamber 24 from the line 5.
