abstract | 1,170,693. Regenerating isomerisation catalysts. GULF RESEARCH & DEVELOPMENT CO. 19 July, 1967 [2 Aug., 1966], No. 33064/67. Heading B1E. An isomerisation catalyst consisting of a major proportion of Al 2 O 3 a minor proportion of a hydrogenation compound and chlorine which has lost activity during use in reverified by contact with an oxygen free gas at 316-593C for 1-12 hours and thereafter rechlorinated. The hydrogenation component is a metal of Group VI or VIII or a compound there of Pt. The rechlorination component may be a carbon chloride in which the aromatic ratio of chlorine to carbon is at least 2:1 e.g. 1:1:1-trichloroethane, and trichloroacetylchloride. Alternatively the rechlorination component may be a sulphur halide of formula S n O a Cl b Y c and Y is a halogen other than chlorine, n = 1 or 2, a = 0, 1, 2, 3 or 5, b = 2, 4 or 7, c = 0 or 1 and b + c = 2-8 e.g. SOCl 2 . |
