titleOfInvention Quinoline Derivatives
abstract 1,168,801. Anticoccidial compositions. MAY & BAKER Ltd. 11 May, 1967 [13 May, 1966; 4 Aug., 1966], Nos. 21396/66 and 35037/ 66. Heading A5B. [Also in Division C2] Veterinary compositions, suitable for administration to chickens to prevent coccidiosis comprise at least one novel quinoline derivative of the formula: wherein R is a straight-chain alkyl group containing from 7 to 11 carbon atoms, R, is a straight- or branched-chain alkyl group containing 1 to 4 carbon atoms, and R 2 is a straight-or branched-chain alkyl group containing 1 to 3 carbon atoms or non-toxic salts with bases thereof with a physiologically innocuous carrier. They may be, for example, concentrates for addition to chicken feed stuff or drinking water. The compositions may also contain antibacterial agents, such as furazolidone, other coccidiostats, e.g. 2-chloro- 4-nitrobenzamide, pyridine-3-sulphonamide, sulphaquinoxaline or nitrofurazne, growth promoters and egg production promoters e.g. 4-hydroxy-3-nitro-phenylarsonic acid and antibiotics e.g. penicillins.
