titleOfInvention Improvements relating to the Dyeing and Finishing of Cellulose Ester Fibre Material from a Single Bath
abstract 1,164,424. Dyeing cellulose ester material. J. R. GEIGY A.G. 23 April, 1968 [24 April, 1967], No. 19044/68. Heading D1B. A liquor for dyeing and simultaneously finishing cellulose ester fibre materials comprises an organic dyestuff, a finishing agent, optimally dyeing auxiliaries in a mixture of solvents consisting of a) at least 50% by weight of optimally halogenated hydrocarbon boiling at 70-150‹C and b) at most 50%n by weight of water miscible organic solvent boiling below 210‹C., the finishing agents include oil and water repellant compounds, anti-slipping, antistatic, fungicidal, bacteriostatic and flame-proofing agents. Solvents of type a) are toluene, xylene, chlorobenzene, tri and tetrachloroethylene, CCl 4 , tetrachloroethane, and dibromoethylene, solvents of type b) are n or iso-propanol, ethylene glycol monomethyl or monoethyl ether, furfuryl or tetrahydrofurfuryl alcohol, acetone, ethylene glycol dioxane, dimethyl formamide, dimethyl acetamide, pyridine, mixtures of any of the solvents being used. Water soluble dyes, acid wool dyes, dye salts and particularly disperse dyes are employed, conventional thermosfixation processes are used.
