abstract 1,163,232. Pentafluorobenzoyloxyaryl sulphonic acids. MONSANTO CHEMICALS Ltd. 20 Feb., 1968 [16 March, 1967], No. 12467/67. Heading C2C. The invention comprises pentafluorobenzoyl. oxyaryl sulphonic acids and their salts. The compounds may be prepared by the action of a pentafluorobenzoyl halide on an appropriate hydroxyaryl sulphonic acid or a salt of such an acid. An example describes the preparation of sodium p - pentafluorobenzoyloxybenzene sulphonate. Other examples of the new compounds mentioned are o- and p-pentafluorobenzoyloxybenzene sulphonic acid; 3-methyl-4-pentafluorobenzoyloxybenzene sulphonic acid; 1-pentafluorobenzoyloxy - 4 - naphthalene sulphonic acid; 1 - pentafluorobenzoyloxy - 2,4 - naphthalene disulphonic acid; and the sodium, potassium, calcium, magnesium and ammonium salts of these acids.
