1,162,172. Lubricating oil composition. LABOFINA S.A. 29 Sept., 1966 [1 Feb., 1966; 8 Feb., 1966], No. 43539/66. Heading C5F. A lubricating oil composition for 4-stroke spark-ignition and compression ignition engines and for 2-stroke marine diesel engines comprises, by weight, 5-80% of a mineral base oil, 5-70% of a liquid polybutene having a M.W. up to 1000, and 1-30% of known lubricant additives. Suitable additives for 4-stroke operation are polymethylmethacrylate, zinc dithiophosphate, diisobutyl catechol, super-based mineral oil sulphonic, naphthanic or phosphonic acids, and an alkylsuccinic anhydride/polyamine dispersant. For two-stroke marine operation a sulphonated mineral oil superbased with an alkaline earth metal oxide or hydroxide may be used in amount of 5-30% by wt. The liquid polybutene may be hydrogenated. |
