1,159,067. Dehydrogenating n-paraffins. ETHYL CORP. 26 May, 1967, No. 24729/67. Heading C5E. C 6-24 n-paraffins are dehydrogenated to the corresponding mono-olefins at 400-560‹ C. in the presence of a catalyst consisting of 30- 100% of an active mixture of 20-70% Cr 2 O 3 , 0À5-25% CuO and 5-45% MuOg and 0-70% of a support of Al 2 O 3 , MgO or SiO 2 . Specified n-paraffins are n-hexane, n-heptane, n-decane, n-dodecane, n-teridecane, n-methadicane, npentadecane, n-hexadecane, n-octadecane, neicosane and n-tetraeicosane. Examples describe the dehydrogenation of n-dodecane to a mixture of dodecene isomers, aromatics and cracking products. |
