1,155,149. Water-soluble reactive dyes. CASSELLA FARBWERKE MAINKUR A.G. 2 Nov., 1967 [3 Nov., 1966], No. 49896/67. Heading C4P. The invention comprises water-soluble reactive dyes containing at least one sulphonic or carboxylic acid groups and at least one residue of the formula wherein X is #-haloethyl, #-sulphatoethyl or a vinyl group and n is an integer from 3 to 11. The dyes may be of the azo, metallized-azo, anthraquinone, phthalo-cyanine, nitro, azine, oxazine, thiazine, xanthone, and triphenylmethane series. They are prepared by reacting a dyestuff or dyestuff intermediate bearing one or more primary or secondary amino groups with one or more halides or anhydrides of an acid X-SO 2 -(CH 2 ) n -COOH wherein X and n are as defined above, and when intermediates are used, converting the product into a dyestuff by known methods. The dyes may be used to dye cotton, linen, regenerated cellulose, wool, silk, leather, polyamides and polyurethanes in yellow, orange, red, scarlet, violet, brown, blue and black shades. |
