A stabilized pharmaceutical composition comprising chlormethiazole is produced by forming an intimate mixture of chlormethiazole and a non-polar, non-toxic carrier selected from peanut oil, oleic acid, stearyl alcohol, stearic acid and mixtures of these carriers, in which mixture the amount of chlormethiazole is 20-85 percent by weight, based on the total weight of chlormethiazole and carrier. The composition may be in the form of a dosage unit comprising the above composition enclosed in a capsule of a watersoluble pharmaceutically acceptable solid material, e.g. gelatin. |
