titleOfInvention Improvements relating to foods for pet animals
abstract 1,143,399. Pet food. J. L. HARVEY. 27 Jan., 1967 [29 Oct., 1965], No. 45918/65. Heading A2B. Chicken offal is converted into a pet food preparation of long shelf-life by boiling the intestines separately from the feet and heads, centrifuging the intestines, combining the two portions of boiled offal, mincing them together, adding a solution of sodium hexametaphosphate and mixing with sufficient water to provide a brawn of the desired thickness, adding sodium alginate followed by dicalcium phosphate during the mixing process, and finally adding a mix of sodium metabisulphite, benzoic acid, and glucono delta lactone to the mixture and filling the resultant pet food into suitable containers. An artificial chocolate flavouring may if desired be added at any time after the boiling step.
