[Also in Divisions C3, C4 and D1] A fluorescent compound of the formula is prepared (see Examples I and XXI) by reacting 2 moles of cyanuric chloride with 1 mole of diaminostilbene-disulphonic acid, neutralizing with sodium carbonate, reacting further with 2 moles of 3,5-dichloro-1,4-phenylenediamine and then with 2 moles of monoethanolamine. The product is diazotized with sodium nitritehydrochloric acid, and the diazonium salt obtained is used as a polymerization catalyst in the production of fluorescent polymers (see Division C3). |
