titleOfInvention Novel esters of o,o-diisopropyl phosphorodithioic acid
abstract 1,142,340. Esters of 0,0-diisopropyl phosphorodithioic acid. AMERICAN CYANAMID CO. 23 June, 1966 [27 July, 1965], No. 28249/66. Heading C2C. [Also in Division A5] The invention comprises the S-ethylsulphinylmethyl and the S-ethylsulphonylmethyl esters of O,O-diisopropyl phosphorodithioic acid of the formula where n is 1 or 2. They are prepared by the oxidation of 0,0-diisopropyl-S-ethylthiomethyl phosphorodithioate with monoperphthalic acid in an inert solvent such as diethyl ether at a temperature between - 10‹ C. and + 10‹ C. The compounds are pesticides, and other analogous compounds are described in comparative examples. O,O - Diisopropyl - S - ethylthiomethyl phosphorodithioate is prepared by reacting potassium isopropyl phosphorodithioate with chloromethyl ethyl sulphide. Monoperphthalic acid is prepared by reacting phthalic anhydride with 30% H 2 0 2 in diethyl ether. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specifications 795,860, 804,141 and 1,068,628.
