titleOfInvention Stabilised synthetic zeolites
abstract 1,140,504. Stabilized zeolites A and X. FARBENFABRIK WOLFEN VEB. 1 March, 1966, No. 8949/66. Heading C1A. The thermal and chemical stability of zeolites A and X loaded with monovalent cations selected from Li, Na, K, Rb, Cs, Tl, and Ag is increased by replacing exchangeable monovalent cations by di- and/or trivalent cations selected from Sr, Cu, Cd, Mn, Co, Ni, Fe, La and Ce in an amount which is not sufficient to alter the adsorption behaviour of zeolite A with regard to nitrogen at - 196‹ C. or with regard to n-butane at 0‹ C. and in an amount which is not sufficient to change the adsorption behaviour of zeolite X with regard to triethyl-benzene. In the ease of zeolite A 15% to 25% of the exchangeable monovalent cations may be exchanged and with zeolite X between 5% and 35% may be replaced. The ion exchange is carried out by known processes and the zeolite may be present as powder or formed bodies.
