titleOfInvention Coating compositions for application to cellulosic webs
abstract 1,139,568. Vinyl acetate ethylene copolymer compositions. AIR REDUCTION CO. Inc. 24 March, 1966 [31 March, 1965 (3)], No. 13045/66. Heading C3P. [Also in Division B2] An aqueous coating composition comprises an aqueous medium having dispersed therein a vinyl acetate/ethylene copolymer of particle size 0À1-0À25 Á and a mineral filler. The copolymer may contain 5-40% ethylene and have an intrinsic viscosity of 1-2À5 dl/gm. in benzene at 30‹ C. The copolymer may contain a cross-linking agent, e.g. triallyl cyanurate or glycidyl acrylate. The mineral filler may be clay and the composition may contain tetrasodium pyrophosphate, casein, starch, ammonium hydroxide and/or polyvinyl alcohol.
