[Also in Division C5] The formation of void spaces adjacent the walls of containers filled with petrolatum is avoided by using petrolatum having dispersed therein at least ยข wt. per cent of a gas, e.g. nitrogen. The containers are heated to a temperature at or slightly above the melting point of the petrolatum, and filled with petrolatum at a temperature between its congealing point and its melting point. Glass containers are preferred.
