titleOfInvention Corticoid derivatives
abstract 1,138,313. Corticoid complexes. C. E. VERMEHREN, and T. L. M. VERMEHREN. 6 April, 1966 [9 April, 1965], No. 15367/66. Heading C2U. The invention comprises a water-soluble corticoid compound which decomposes substantially instantaneously in plasma or tissue fluid with liberation of the corticoid in free form which consists of the reaction product of (a) a mono-alkali metal or mono-ammonium salt of di-hydrocortisone 21-phosphate or di-prednisolone-21-phosphate and (b) a free 21-hydroxy corticoid, and its preparation by reaction of an aqueous solution of the phosphate salt with a solution of the free corticoid in a solvent at least partially miscible in water. The product is preferably converted to a homogeneous solid by freeze-drying. The compounds of the invention may be used to treat shock-like conditions by use dissolved in a carrier in injectable form.
