Heading A5B [Also in Divisions C3 and C4] A hair lacquer or hair setting lotion comprises an alcoholic or aq. alcoholic solution of a coloured resin consisting of recurring units of formula where D is the residue of a dye having a hydroxyl or a primary or secondary amino group, A is the residue of an alcohol and B is the residue of an ethylenically unsaturated monomer, the resin being the condensation product at least one of the above dyes and at least one alcohol with a maleic anhydride/ ethylenically unsaturated monomer copolymer obtained from 45-55 mole % maleic anhydride and 55-45 mole % of the unsaturated monomer. In examples the coloured resin was compounded with a vinyl acetate/crotonic acid copolymer, 2-amino-2-methyl-propanol, ethyl alcohol, water and optionally an aerosol propellant. |
