A novel steroid of the general formula wherein R<SP>1</SP> represents a fluorine, chlorine or bromine atom, R<SP>2</SP> represents a hydrogen atom or a lower-alkanoyl group and R<SP>3</SP> represents a lower-alkyl group is prepared by treating a 6α,7α-epoxy steroid of the general formula with the appropriate hydrogen halide in acidic solution in accordance with the methods known per se. |
