titleOfInvention | Carbamoyloximes |
abstract | The invention comprises compounds of the general formula <FORM:1121110/C2/1> wherein Y is -NO2, -CN, -SCN, R5-CO -N(R6)-, R7-COO-, or (R8O)2PS-S-, R and R1 are each C1- 4 alkyl, at least one being alkyl, R2- 7 are each H or C1- 4 alkyl, R8 is alkyl, or R and R1 or R1 and R2 may complete an aliphatic carbocyclic ring containing 4-7 ring atoms. When R and R1 are both alkyl, one or more of the H atoms or one only of the alkyl groups may be substituted. The aliphatic carbocyclic rings completed by R+R1 or R1+R2 may be substituted. Compounds in which R3 is CH3 and R4 is H may be prepared by reacting an oxime of the formula <FORM:1121110/C2/2> with CH3NCO. The compounds generally may be prepared by reacting an oxime of the above formula with COCl2 to form a chloroformate which is then reacted with NH3 or an amine HNR3R4. 2 - Formamido - 2 - methylpropionaldehyde oxime is obtained by reacting 2-amino-2-methylpropionaldehyde oxime with vinyl formate. 2 - Methyl - 2 - (O,O1 - diethylthionophosphonothio) - propionaldehyde oxime is obtained by reacting O,O1-diethyldithiophosphoric acid and NaOH with 2-chloro-2-methyl-1-nitrosopropane dimer.ALSO:Pesticidal compositions comprise a carrier and/or diluent and, as the active toxicant, a compound of the formula: <FORM:1121110/A5-A6/1> wherein Y is -NO2, -CN, -SCN, R5 -CO-N(R6)-, R7 -COO-, or (R8O)2 PS-S-, R and R1-7 are each H or C1-4 alkyl, at least one of R and R1 being alkyl, R8 is alkyl, or R and R1 or R1 and R2 may complete an aliphatic carboxylic ring containing 4-7 ring atoms. When R and R1 are both alkyl, one or more of the H atoms on one only of these two alkyl groups may be substituted. When R+R1 or R1+R2 complete a ring, the ring may be substituted. The compositions may be used as insecticides, acaricides or nematocides and are formulated accordingly. The compositions may contain surface-active, emulsifying and dispersing agents. Synergists may be added, the most effective being those known to synergise carbamate pesticides, in particular, pyeronyl butoxide, methylenedionyphenyl compounds, and 2-(3, 5-dichloro-2-biphenylyloxy)-triethylamine. |
