titleOfInvention | Muscle regeneration |
abstract | A therapeutic composition, useful in muscle regeneration for the treatment of myopathy in metazoan animals, comprise one or more dinitramine compounds of the formula <FORM:1113702/A5-A6/1> wherein each R independently represents H, NH4 or an alkali metal (i.e. Na, K or Li) and at least one R is hydrogen or both R's are identical, all occurences of alkali metal in a compound being the same, and a pharmaceutically acceptable diluent or carrier. Preferred nitramines are: N,N1 - dinitroethylenediamine and N,N1 - diammonium - N,N1 - dinitroethylenediamine. Administration may be by oral or anal introduction, intravascular injection or injection into body cavities or tissues or external application. The composition may be in the form of tablets, liquid, pellets, powder, chewing gum, gelatin capsules or microcapsules, salve, paste, lotion, or preferably it is mixed with the grain ration or other animal feed compositions. Feed compositions may contain 0.0001 to 30% by weight of the active ingredient. The composition may also be formulated as concentrates containing 5-98% by weight of dinitramine compounds. The composition can also contain other biologically active materials such as vitamins or other dietary supplements, hormones or other growth regulants and/or stimulants. |
