abstract | The salts of b -chlorovinylsulphonic acid are prepared by reacting a salt of b ,b -dichloroethanesulphonic acid with between three and five times its molar amount of an alkali in an aqueous medium. Suitably the alkali is sodium carbonate, the reaction is carried out at 50-100 DEG C. and the product is obtained by evaporating the reaction mixture to dryness and extracting the residue with hot alcohol. |
