abstract A suppository containing at least two therapeutically active ingredients is divided transversely into two portions abutting end to end one or more active ingredients being confined to one portion, and one or more other ingredients being confined to the other. The intended leading end of the suppository contains an anti-inflammatory or decongestant agent e.g. aminophyllin, adrenaline or phenylephrine and the other portion contains an analgesic or local anaesthetic e.g. cocaine, codeine, morphine, barbiturates, procaine and amethocaine. The two portions may be cast separately, the ends melted and touched together or they may be cast successively in the same mould. Anti-septics and astringents may be included together with conventional suppository bases.
