The invention relates to colour couplers having the general formula <FORM:1111554/C2/1> wherein X represents hydrogen, one or more halogen atoms or methyl or sulphonic group substituted in the 4-,5- or 6- positions of the benzene nucleus A, Y represents a group -NH-CO, -CO-NH-, -NH-SO2-, -SO2NH-, R represents H, an alkyl or aryl group which may be substituted by one or more solubilizing groups and/or one or more linear or branched alkyl group.
