abstract | 1,110,341. Slot racer. LOUIS MARX & CO. Ltd. 5 April, 1966 [5 April, 1965], No. 15059/ 66. Heading A6S. In a combination to simulate drag racing of a track and a toy vehicle to run thereon, the track ha's a pair of spaced conductors 23, 24 with a slot 25 between them. The track comprises a straight portion 21 and at least one turnaround portion, the conductor of which is discontinuous between points 36 and 35, and 31 and 45 to prevent short circuits. The vehicle has a finger which engages in the slot 25 and a pair of pickups which contact the conductor rails and are shorter than the gap in the conductor rails: The pickups are connected to the DC motor in the vehicle via a full wave rectifier bridge so that the car will move in the same direction (i.e. forwards) if DC of either polarity or AC is supplied to the conductor rails. The speed of the oars is controlled by a rheostat incorporated in series between the power supply and the track. |
