abstract 5 - Substituted oxazolidones - (2) of the formula <FORM:1104773/C2/1> wherein Ar represents an aromatic or heterocyclic-aromatic residue and X represents an oxygen or sulphur atom are prepared by a novel process in which triglycidyl isocyanurate is reacted with a compound of the formula Ar-X-H. The novel compounds 5-(p-aminophenoxymethyl) - , 5 - (m - dimethylaminophenoxymethyl) -, 5 - (a - naphthoxymethyl) -, 5 -phenthiomethyl - and 5 - (p-methylmercapto-phenoxymethyl) - oxazolidone - (2) are also referred to. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 838,759, 888,594, 893,252 and 894,198.
