abstract | A diagnostic agent for the detection of hydrogen peroxide and of substances which can be broken down with the liberation of hydrogen peroxide comprises peroxidase or a peroxidase-active substance and a dihydroxyazo compound containing the grouping:- <FORM:1104137/B1-B2/1> Compositions exemplified are: 2-hydroxy-naphthalene - 4 - sulphonic acid-[1-azo-4]-4-phenyl3-methyl-5-hydroxy pyrazole, glucose oxidase, peroxidase and phosphate buffer; 2-hydroxy naphthalene - 4 - sulphonic acid - [1]azo-2] - 1 - hydroxy-naphthalene, glucose oxidase, peroxidase, citrate buffer. Other indicators mentioned are 2 - hydroxy naphthalene - [1-azo-3] - 4 - hydroxybenzene - sulphonic acid - [5-azo-1] - 2 - hydroxynaphthalene and 2 - hydroxy - 5 - nitro naphthalene - 4 - sulphonic acid - [1-azo-2] - 1 - hydroxynaphthalene, and there is reference to determination of glucose and glucose oxidases, galactose oxidase and galactose, D and L amino acid oxidases and D and L amino acids, uricase and uric acid, xanthine oxidase and hypoxanthine or xanthine, glycine oxidase and glycine, monoamine oxidase and adrenaline or mescaline, diamine oxidase and histamine, luciferase and luciferin, D-aspartic acid oxidase and D-aspartic acid, liver aldehyde oxidase and aldehydes, Edson's flavine enzyme and lactic acid. |
