abstract Articles such as filaments made of compositions comprising a polyolefin and an ester of a silicic acid, a silicol or an ester of a silicol, are dyed with basic dyestuffs. The polyolefin may be polyethylene or polypropylene. Examples describe the dyeing in baths containing Rhodamin B, acetic acid and wetting agent, of filaments spun from compositions comprising polyethylene and (1 and 2) tetramethyl orthosilicate (3) tetrahexyl orthosilicate, (4) tetrapropyl orthosilicate and (5 and 6) hexamethyl trisilicate; polypropylene and (7) hexamethyl trisilicate and a mixture of polyethylene and polypropylene and (8) hexamethyl trisilicate.
