titleOfInvention Textile-reinforced stratified structures
abstract 1,090,968. Laminates. METZELER A.G. Nov. 19, 1964 [Dec. 5, 1963], No. 47120/64. Heading B5N. In tyres, tubes, belting, mattresses, boats, containers and other products of textile-reinforced rubber, rubber - like, or plastics material, the reinforcement comprises yarns, cords or twine at least the outer surfaces of which may be composed of fibres or filaments of non-circular section, e.g. of kidney shaped, clover shaped, star shaped or rectangular crosssection. The remainder of the fibres or filaments may be of conventional cross-section and may be spun or sprayed with an adhesive layer of plastics material such as a low-melting polyamide. The reinforcement fibres or filaments, whether external or other, may be of glass or polyamide, polyester, vinyl, acryl or olefin polymers. The yarns, cords or twine may be coated with a sizing solution such as a resorcinolformaldehyde latex.
