abstract A composition for use in forming building elements comprises aggregate, e.g. cellulosic fibres such as wood in the form of chips or shavings, or expanded plastics material, a cement binder, e.g. Portland or magnesite cement, water, and from 0.25-30%, preferably 1-5%, of the weight of the cement of fibres of a synthetic organic polymer, e.g. acrylic, polyester, polyurethane, polyolefin, polyamide, polyvinyl, or polyvinylidene fibres. The fibres may comprise textile waste and may have been heat set or crimped.
