titleOfInvention Method of producing melamine-formaldehyde moulding materials
abstract Melamine formaldehyde moulding material is prepared by condensing melamine and formaldehyde at a temperature of 100-160 DEG C. and pressure of 5-20 atmospheres. Reaction is continued until 2-13% methylol groups are formed and the reaction is continued at 40-90 DEG C. in the presence of fillers, additives and an acid catalyst. The filler may be cellulose and additives titanium dioxide and zinc stearate. Phthalic ureide is a suitable catalyst. The process is suitable for continuous operation.
