titleOfInvention | Salicylic acid derivatives |
abstract | Novel compounds of general formula <FORM:1086838/C2/1> in which X is an oxygen atom or an NH group and R is C1-C3 alkyl, or phenyl optionally mono- or di-substituted by halogen atoms, CF3, OH, NO2, alkyl or alkoxy groups, and ammonium and alkali metal salts thereof, are prepared by reacting a compound of formula <FORM:1086838/C2/2> with a compound RZ where Z is OH or amino, optionally with salt formation. The compounds of the last formula above are obtained by chlorosulphonation of a 4-chlorosalicylic acid and reaction of the 4-chloro-5-chlorosulphonyl salicyclic acid so formed with ammonia followed by acid chloride formation where necessary. Pharmaceutical compositions in powder, tablet or liquid forms comprise an above novel compound and an acceptable diluent. |
