titleOfInvention | Polyurethane elastomers and process |
abstract | A polyesterurethane is prepared by reacting 1.25-2.5 mols of an organic diisocyanate with one mol of an -OH terminated polyester at least 20 weight per cent of which consists of a polytetramethylene azelate of M.W. 800-3000 and which may be mixed with up to 80% of tetramethylene adipate of mol. wt. 800-3000; and with 0.25-0.9 mols of a diamine for each mol of diisocyanate in excess. The diisocyanate may be aliphatic, cycloaliphatic or aromatic. The diamine may be an aromatic diamine and may be either a fast reacting or slow reacting (defined) diamine. The product may be dissolved in an inert solvent e.g. a 2-nitropropane/methyl ethyl ketone mixture to provide a sprayable solution. |
