titleOfInvention | Curing of elastomers |
abstract | A vulcanizable composition comprises an active halogen-containing elastomer with from 0.05-2.5 parts of sulphur and 0.05-7 parts of at least one alkali metal salt of an organic carboxylic acid per 100 parts of elastomer. In examples vulcanization is effected by heating compositions based on copolymers of ethyl acrylate with vinyl chloroacetate or vinyl chloroethyl ether, or on butyl acrylate/cyanoethyl acrylate/vinyl chloroacetate terpolymer, or on neoprene, "Hypalon" (Trade Mark), and chlorobutyl: the compositions contain sulphur, optionally carbon black, phenyl-b -naphthylamine, sodium salt of saponified coconut oil and tallow and stearic acid, and also sodium or potassium stearate, acetate, benzoate, terephthalate, tartrate and adipate. |
