abstract The invention comprises compounds of the formula <FORM:1077688/C2/1> where Z is F, OH, alkoxy, NHNHCOC6H5 or NH2 and Y is Cl or F, except those claimed in Specification 1,067,788. The compounds wherein Z is F are prepared by reacting gaseous chlorine trifluoride with a compound of the formula <FORM:1077688/C2/2> where X is Cl or F in the liquid state, and if desired or necessary contacting the product with fluorine to complete the saturation of the carbon-carbon double bonds. These compounds may then be hydrolysed or reacted with ammonia or benzhydrazide to give compounds wherein Z is OH, NH2 and NHNHCOC6H5 respectively. The alkoxy derivatives may be obtained by esterification of the acids by alcohols.
