titleOfInvention Substituted benzylamines and their preparation
abstract The invention comprises compounds of formula <F\1> wherein Y1 is fluorine, chlorine, or a perfluoro alkyl o -chloro-perfluoroalkyl or o -hydro-per fluoroalkyl group, the alkyl groups containing 1 to 6 carbon atoms, Y2 has the same meanings as Y1, or may be hydrogen when Y1 is fluorine or a perfluoroalkyl group, n is 1 or 2, and Q is the radical formed by removal of n hydrogen atoms from a compound HQH which is a monocyclic, polycyclic or fused polycyclic compound containing 1, 2 or 3 six-membered carbocyclic aromatic rings, or a polycyclic compound containing 2 six-membered carbo cyclic aromatic rings joined by a bridge selected from <F\2> in which m is 1 to 6 and R is a hydrogen atom or an alkyl or phenyl group, one or more of the carbocyclic rings of Q being optionally sub stituted by up to 4 alkyl, perfluoroalkyl, hydroxy, alkoxy, phenoxy, alkylthio, amino, monoalkylamino, dialkylamino, cyclopentyl, cyclohexyl, halo or nitro substituents, the alkyl and alkoxy groups having 1 to 6 carbon atoms, and their preparation by reaction of a com pound HQH with a compound of formula Y1CF2C( = NH)CF2Y2 in the presence of at least 0.005%, based on the weight of imine, of a Friedel-Crafts catalyst at a temperature of 0 DEG to 300 DEG C.ALSO:A polyamide of formula <FORM:1073328/C3/1> is prepared from 4,41-bis-(2-amino-hexafluoro isopropyl)diphenyl ether by treatment with sodium hydride in ethylene glycol dimethyl ether to form the disodium salt, followed by reaction with adipoyl chloride. Polymethyl methacrylate is plasticized by addition of a ,a -bis-trifluoromethyl-benzylamine or 4 - hydroxy - a ,a - bis - trifluoromethyl-benzylamine. Films are obtained from chloroform solutions of the mixtures.ALSO:Aluminium foil is melt-coated at 4000 p.s.i. with a polymer of formula <FORM:1073328/B1-B2/1>
