titleOfInvention | Pesticidal compositions |
abstract | A solid pesticidal composition, particularly suitable for application on walls, ceilings, floors or other absorbent surfaces, comprises a pesticidal agent and a fusible water-insolubilisation resin compatible therewith, the pesticidal agent having the general formula <FORM:1070026/A5-A6/1> in which R and R1 are the same or different and each is a saturated linear- or branched-chain alkyl radical having from 1 to 4 carbon atoms and R2 is hydrogen or a linear- or branched-chain alkyl radical having from 1 to 4 carbon atoms. Suitable resins include hpenolic, terpenic, terpene phenolic, cumaronic and cumarone indenic resins, and modified colophonium having a softening point of from 80 to 120 DEG C. The composition may also contain fillers (e.g. diatomaceous earth, talc, clay or bentonite) and surface active agents (e.g. alkali metal or alkaline earth metal arylakyl-sulphonates and condensation products of ethylene oxide with fatty acids or alkylphenols). In the examples, the pesticidal agent employed is the amide, monomethylamide, monoethylamide or monoisopropylamide of O,O-diemthyl-dithiophosphorylacetic acid. In some examples, the composition also contains the O,O-diethyl-dithiophosphoric ester of 3,4-tetramethylene rembelliferone. Tests are described which show the efficiency of some of the compositions of the invention in killing flies. |
