titleOfInvention | Developer for latent electrostatic images |
abstract | Developers for electrostatic images (see Division G2) comprise a mixture of inorganic particles which acquire a positive charge on mixing, and of particles consisting wholly or partly of a vinyl chloride copolymer containing carboxyl groups, which acquire a negative charge. Specified resins are copolymers of vinyl chloride, vinyl esters and unsaturated carboxylic acids (e.g. crotonic, cinnamic, maleic, fumaric or itaconic acid; the resin may also contain a dye and a dyeing auxiliary (e.g. phenylethylurethane or chlorotoluene). Specified inorganic materials are silica and metallic sulphates, halides, carbonates, oxides, silicates and borates. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specifications 944,393, 944,394, 944,395, 944,396 and 975,694. |
