abstract New compounds of Formula I <FORM:1062448/C2/1> where R1 is lower (i.e. 1-6 C) alkyl or b -chloroethyl, R2 is alkyl, cycloalkyl, aralkyl, alkenyl or aryl, and X is hydrogen or chlorine, and their pharmaceutically acceptable acid addition salts, are prepared by chlorination of compounds II where R3 is lower alkyl or b -hydroxyethyl <FORM:1062448/C2/2> (preparable from uracils, HCHO and R3NHCH2CH2OH): also described is hydrogenation to replace a chlorine atom X. Pharmaceutical compositions comprise the new compounds with carriers, being useful as cytostatic agents.
