titleOfInvention Granular fertilisers
abstract A granular fertilizer contains 15-75% of defatted cocoa waste having a particle size of less than 8 BSS. The pH of a 10% aqueous suspension of the waste is less than 6.0. Granulation of the moistened constituents is effected in a rotary drum. The fertilizer constituents may be ammonium sulphate or phosphate, potassium sulphate or single superphosphate. The granular product may be sprayed with an aqueous solution of the alkali metal, ammonium or amine salt of a selective weed killer, e.g. 2: 4-dichlorophenoxyacetic, 4 - chloro - 2 - methyl - phenoxyacetic, or 4 - chloro - 2 - methyl - phenoxypropionic acid. A moss growth inhibitor, e.g. mercurous chloride, and a pigment dyestuff may be incorporated in the solution. The treated granules may be sprayed with 0.2% of mineral oil to prevent dust formation.ALSO:A granular fertilizer containing 15-75% of defatted cocoa waste having a particle size of less than 8 BSS is sprayed with an aqueous solution of the alkali metal, ammonium or amine salt of a selective weed killer, e.g. 2:4-dichloro-phenoxyacetic, 4-chloro-2-methylphenoxyacetic or 4-chloro-2-methyl-phenoxypropionic acid.
