abstract | 1,052,987. Laminates. PHILIPS ELECTRONIC & ASSOCIATED INDUSTRIES Ltd. July 2, 1963 [July 5, 1962], No. 26183/63. Heading B5N. [Also in Division C3] Sheets of fibrous material, e.g. kraft paper, are impregnated with an aqueous emulsion of the condensate of phenol or cresol, a molar excess of formaldehyde and 0À03 to 0À15 moles of dicyandiamide (see Division C3) and laminated with or without a metal foil included in the stack. In Example 4 kraft paper sheets are impregnated with the compositions of Examples 1 to 3 (emulsions as above also containing ammonium sulphanilate as pH adjuster and curing catalyst and stearamide as lubricant and plasticizer) and pre-dried above 100‹ C. to effect partial condensation. Assemblies of ten sheets, with or without metal foil, are then pressed for 15 to 35 minutes at 145‹ or 160‹ C. and 60 kg./sq. cm. |
